October Updates
Week of 10-6-2012
Here we go!!!! I figure about 2 1/2 months to do this transformation.
Still not for sure what color I am going with. This will not be a frame off job like my 66 Chevy truck. Simply a very nice frame on resto.
Started stripping and redoing the panels.
First the left fender and the hood
Left Fender
10-12 -2012 Stripped the hood and did the bodywork.Very little bodywork.
Hood
Sat October 13th. Started stripping the door. VERY clean door. Just had small dings and one small rust hole.
Left Door
Pic of the drivers door strippes
Primed 2 hours later.
Deck Lid
My nephew Matt is here stripping the deck (trunk) lid
New rechromed bumper. We undercoated the back of the bumper
New chrome! Sharp!
Time to remove the old top and mouldings
Not bad on the rust. 2 smaller holes in the corners. All the 'rivets' will be retained
This is not rust. Just the vinyl top glue
Front mouldings removed
Another VERY clean part. No bondo was on it. A couple very small dings.
This was it for bodwork. A couple small dings
The underside of the hood. Whoever previously painted it, did not sand the underside. So most of the paint actually blew off.
The deck lid shown primed
Left Quarter – stripped and bodyworked
