BEAUTIFUL car! Needs nothing!!!!!!!!

40th Anniversary Package ($2700 option for 2002)
This came as either a GT or a GTP. This model is the more desirable Supercharged model (240 hp)
Functional heat extractors (only the supercharged model comes with these)
Factory chrome wheels
2-tone ruby/graphite interior
NASCAR inspired roof rails and deck spoiler
Dual exhaust
40th anniversary floor mats
40th anniversary emblems on doors and deck lid

Low miles for 2002 – 81K miles

“New for 2002 was a $2,695 40th Anniversary option package which included the NASCAR-inspired rear spoiler and roof fences, polished dual-outlet exhaust tips, hood with heat extractors, and 15-spoke chrome wheels previously offered with the 2001 Special Edition package. Unique elements such as the Dark Cherry Metallic paint, 40th Anniversary badges, and Ruby Red and Graphite interior trim with the 40th Anniversary logo embroidered on the front seats and floormats differentiated this option package from the previous year’s offering.”

*The front end had quite a few chips on the front bumper cover along with some chips on the hood and a very small ding. I went ahead and stripped the hood down to alum, chromated it, and primed it. The bumper was removed for paint. Both were repainted with PPG Global bc/cc . The color matches perfect. The paint was done correctly. I also wetsanded and buffed it so it looks factory. This would run approx $800 for all the work. The car was NOT in an accident. I have pics to document. I also replaced the headlights so they are brand new. The original headlights were just cloudy.
Pictures below show front AFTER it was repainted

Only 2 details are different between the GT, and the GTP. the GT comes with the stock motor cover (plastic cover over the motor) that says 3800 Series II. BUT the GTP comes with the cover that says the same thing and under it "Supercharged"

The second detail is, the driver. theres a significant difference between supercharged and non-supercharged. close to around 40 HP, for anyone who knows their stuff. they know each HP makes a noticible difference.

Every grand Prix GT 98-2003 is not supercharged

Every Grand Prix GTP 98-2003 is supercharged.

Supercharger only adds an average of 30-40 feelable horsepower, to the open throttle and max speed, however acceleration is almost idenicle in tests and numbers, and top speed is the same, except supercharger will help you reach that top speed alot faster. thanks to GM's stock ratio in gears and engine torque converts

if your not a circuit or drag racer, the GT is just your car. it's plenty to handle, never under estimate the power and speed of a GT. it will surprise you and it will put up a fight

There are no differences in the body exterior OR interior between the GT and the GTP, except on the information screen on the console, there is a digital boost meter for the Supercharger

you had a fantastic looking car here ACP, well cared for. seemless paintjob from what i can tell in the pictures, it looks factory

for anyone who looks forward to having a unique car like this, the best way to go is to a GT COUPE, as they are the most rare case of 40th anniversary editions, 967 of them were made. heres a comparison chart typed by GM factor's

-Total 40th Production: 7,222 units

-GT Coupe = 967

-GT Sedan (4DR) = 2,871

-GTP Coupe = 1,128

-GTP Sedan (4DR) = 2,256

For those of you with the rumor that only 2000 were made, this is not true. there were only 2000 PACE CAR Edition Grand Prix's made in the year of 2001, their not 40th anniversary and they are not available in different models

Whoever posted this did their research except that both the GT and the GTP models came with the heat extractors. I have the GT version of this in the 4dr and love it really gets people looking when its clean. The Borla Cat-back was a nice idea by GM to make it sound a little meaner.

      Gregg,
I got the window sticker with the car, but I don't remember what it was (30K or so?)
